Shirley Elaine Milewski

Shirley E. Milewski was born March 22, 1936 in Paterson, New Jersey, and died peacefully at her home in Colorado Springs on March 16, 2021 with her family by her side. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Donald Milewski and her sister Florence Benedetto (Flossie).She is survived by her son George Gorter(Robin),her daughter Crystal Jack, her grandson Kody Milewski(Kate), her sister Charlene Lovegrove, her brother Robert Senn(Judy), her brother in law Joseph Benedetto, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Shirley grew up in Pequannock, New Jersey and went to Butler High School. After graduation she worked as a secretary before marrying and having 2 children. About 1970 the family moved to Colorado Springs, Monument and then back to Colorado Springs where she lived at La Cresta Estates for the past 29 year making many friends and enjoying the many events at the club house. Shirley had a passion for family history and every trip back to New Jersey was filled with researching, visiting with family and visiting the ocean where she loved to walk on the boardwalk and pick shells up on the beach.

A celebration of her life will be held later this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Colorado Parkinson Foundation at co-parkinson.org.
