Sam...and  family...I am shocked of the news of this. Little Bennie passed in my driveway  a day I will never forget. I loved all of you. May God have peace and mercy on your family.

We have a sweet memory of Sammy at a Haul Valley biking and camping trip.
Sammy was about 5 or 6 years old and  had just learned how to ride his motor bike. Russ got him all set up on the bike and he was riding around a big circled area of trees and singing the whole time. He was so happy! When he got closer to us, the singing would be louder and then he would keep going. We all loved it! It makes us smile everytime we think of it. So cute! We will miss you and your sweet smile Sammy.

I’ve been searching for specific pictures and I finally found them!♥️  We grew up together and shared a childhood full of love and laughter. You were always the icky boy with coodies who I adored. We played in the mud until the mud was no longer fun and long talks about growing up and turning into teenagers hit us. I remember playing chase and hide n seek and being outside till the sun went down.  You always showed me care and respect. One of our last times together you had me over to your apartment and you had cooked dinner for me and set the table so thoughtfully. We talked and talked and caught up over missed time. I’ll always remember your smile and your soft eyes. Your heart is big and you will 
carry us all through your future endless journeys. Be free. ♥️

My youngest brother, Fred came over to my house while Nadean and Sam were visiting.  Fred was throwing a small fit about his phone. Sam held out his hand and asked " What's wrong with it? " within 2 minutes Sam adjusted it and Fred was headed home with a smile on his face. Thank you Sam! The day I heard Sam passed, my brother telephoned me and heard the tears in my voice. "What's wrong?  I told him Nadean's son, Sam passed.  "Oh no, the one who fixed my phone?!"  All these memories I have , will keep Sam alive in my heart. We will miss him. We all send you our heartfelt sympathy.

I remember seeing Malcolm getting checked in on his first day at school. I was excited to see a new punk rocker and had a feeling he’d be part of the crew soon. Sure enough - that same day, we decided to hang out. He was walking home with this curly headed kid wearing a Ramones shirt. I was introduced to Sammy and was in awe with how badass this younger kid was. Sam was one of those people who was cool without even trying. Sam, Malcolm, and I were inseparable for a bit there. The first holiday season, we celebrated what we called, “A Gangster’s Christmas”, where we dressed up like gangsters and made a review video about a giant assortment of gummy candies. It didn’t make any sense, but it will always be a hilarious “had to be there” moment. Spending more time together, Sam instantly felt like a little brother. Sam’s the reason we met our other brother Tony and his wonderful family. Our crew/family just kept getting bigger and I’ll never forget about piling everyone up in my Ford Explorer to roam the streets of Elizabeth looking for trouble. I learned what it meant to be part of a tribe. Our crew was tight knit and rarely ever apart. I’m beyond grateful I got to grow up with Sam during those times. Sam being the youngster of the crew did result in him being the target of a few pranks, but he was always laughing right there with us. Like the time we told him we would give him $20 to strip down to his undies and make a snow angel, but we ended up locking him outside for a good 5 mins afterwards. We were such little turds to each other, but deep down we knew it was out of love and a good laugh, or I should say a constant laugh. Sam had a great sense of humor and had a way of showing that side in the most unexpected places. Sam definitely lived many lifetimes, a life that gave him many challenges along the way that were unimaginably tragic. Although no one wants him gone, I know he has finally found peace. My heart goes out to everyone feeling this one. I love you, Sam. 

Sam and Tony will always hold a special place in my heart as they created a magical time in my life. Full of fun, laughter, jokes and smiles. The loss of these beautiful souls is absolutely devastating. 

There’s nothing in the world I would trade for the memories; the endless lazy hours in the basement watching cartoons and listening to music, Sam answering the door for Jehovah’s Witnesses with a toothbrush in his mouth wearing only his boxers, days fading to night at Castlewood (rain or shine), the hilarious pranks and the real conversations. 

My heart goes out to his wonderful family. The impression of positivity Sam made on this earth is immeasurable. His spark lives on exponentially through all those who were lucky enough to meet him and spread those good vibes on.

When we all lived in Elizabeth a people and dog friendly chicken turned up at our place. It was white and fluffy and had feathers on its feet. I checked with all our neighbors no one was missing her. I couldn't just let it be as the coyotes would eat it . So I called Nadean and kids told her we had a chicken for them. I knew they had chickens. Turned out it did not get along with their chickens so they had to build an entirely new coop for this "cute gift". 

I loved our life philosophy talks we shared while in Colorado.  I pray that now your pain is lifted and you are now again united with the Lord, your beautiful daughter and family.  Peace, until we meet again Sam.... love you 🙏

Sam was a lover, he had such a huge heart. He had such a great sense of humor especially when paired with his partner in crime Tony Campbell. There are endless memories that I think back on and laugh..  Spending endless hours in our safe haven of Tony's basement, all four of us bare handed eating a rotisserie chicken in Casey's jeep, band practice at Joe's, cruising around E-town in his tiny cabriolet, punk-rock concerts galore, camping with the Schneider's, putting a dirt bike or two through a fence, moving into our first apartment that was infested with cockroaches, and mostly all of us being a part of this rebellious family of punk kids from Elizabeth. I will cherish all of those memories 
forever as they are a piece of who I am, Sam is a piece of who I am. Sam had his struggles for sure, but no one deserves to go through what he and Casey had to. I hope that his soul is at peace now and he can be with his sweet angel and best friend once again.

I will always remember growing up with Sam and Malcom and our motley crew of Elizabeth dirt punks and friends mobbing around town, going to castle wood Canyon , renaissance Festival with Tony and Rachel, and all kinds of punk shows …I remember going to castle wood with the crew and a little lizard hopped on Sam and rode all the way up the cliff side with us making sure he was still clinging on,then just jumped of him like thanks for the lift Sam …It was always the best to see Sam Malcom and joe and anyone else in our group of friends tucked away in our cubbyhole next to the library in high school to start off the day …Sam kicked my ass into gear to ask my first girlfriend out in high school always giving me pep talks! I always remember him telling me to take the plunge “ stop being a pussy Spence and ask her she talks to me about you in math class bro!” It’s good to have friends like Sam that build you up. Rest in peace Sam take care of Benni and Tony for us

 

Sam’s greatest treasure was being a father. He excelled at it. When our daughter was born, he took to her so kindly, gently, and so unbelievably loving. He was an amazing father. He was an amazing step father. That’s the main role he wanted to play in life. He excelled. He will be missed entirely. You’re with our Lady B now. As well as your best friend. Rest easy- and good vibes. 

Sam was always the one in class that had a smile on his face and was happy go lucky! I am sorry for your loss but I am glad he is with Benni

I love you so much. I was blessed in this life to be your sister. Thank you for loving my children and my family. Thank you for loving me, even if you are obligated because I'm your sister. You're a great man who went through a great amount of pain. I'm glad you're at peace and with Benni again. I love you. I miss you. 

Unfortunately I do not have many pictures of you but I will forever hold these pictures of you and my kiddo very near and dear to my heart. What I do have is years of memories and I am so thankful for that. Being your sisters best friend came with two of her brothers being a huge part of my life. You used to chase me around your mom and dads house whipping me with Virginia's horse whips, and throw things at me at mock ten trying to knock me out. I’ll miss seeing you. Hearing your voice. Hearing your absolutely insane traveling stories. And our deep conversations. But most of all I’ll miss you. Thank you Sammy for years of memories and love that no one could ever replace. You were certainly were a special person in my heart. Rest in paradise sweet boy🖤

Unfortunately I don’t have many pictures with you Sammy but I will now hold these pictures with you and my kiddo very near and dear to my heart. What I do have is years of memories and I am so thankful for that. Being your sisters best friend came with two of her brothers being a huge part of my life and after 15+ years of friendship you were still a huge part of my life. You used to chase me around your mom and dads house whipping me with Virginia's horse whips, and throw things at mock ten trying to knock me out. I’ll miss seeing you. Hearing your voice. Hearing your absolutely insane traveling stories. And our deep conversations. But most of all you. Thank you Sammy for years of memories and love that no one could ever replace.
