Robert "Bob" Edward Bailey, born on April 6, 1935 in Pontiac, Michigan departed this life September 27, 2024 at his home in Colorado Springs, CO. Born to Roy Lee Bailey and Dora Eileen Phillips who had three children, Raymond Bailey, Roger Bailey and Carolyn Orange (Brown).
Robert "Bob" Bailey married Gail Ann Haskew in November, 1955 and together they had two children, Robert Steve (Terri) Bailey and Sharon Marie (Mike Smith) Bailey.
Most of his life, Bob worked in metal treating and research. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the American Legion. Bob had a love and passion for traveling the world, visiting the ocean as much as possible, fishing, boating, and most of all, bowling. Bob loved football and the Denver Broncos, but would always secretly root for his hometown Detroit Lions, he would never admit it though.
Although Bob was born in Michigan, he always considered himself a man of the mountains. Bob joined the Army April 16, 1954, serving three years active duty and five year in the Army Reserves. He was a part of the 10th mountain division ski troopers Stationed at Fort Carson. He loved spending time with his family but could never quite silence to wander lust in his soul and was always up for an adventure. At 73 years young, Bob jumped out of a perfectly good airplane, at 87 years young he zip lined through the jungle of Costa Rica.
Bob is preceded in death by his great granddaughter, Corrina Bailey.
He is survived by his son Steve and daughter Sharon; his grandchildren, Brian (Ivana) Bailey, Leah (Mike) Lykens, Anna (Miles Reves) Bailey, John (Janet) Bailey, Jauna Smith, Jamaica (Christian) Loftis, Laura (Joe Gilbert) Smith; great grandchildren, Alana Bailey, Koi Bailey, Maryna Bailey, Mariah Bailey, Mila Bailey, Elena Bailey, Anthony Bailey, Wesley Lykens, Owen Lykens, Fallyn Pryor, Shaya Surita; and many numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 11, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Roswell Community Church, 2728 Beacon St, Colorado Springs, CO 80907.
