Rick was born in Denver, Colorado on October 26th, 1944, and very soon moved to the Colorado Springs area, graduating from Fountain-Fort Carson High School in 1962. After graduation he moved to Anchorage, Alaska. This did not last long as he returned to Colorado Springs to marry his High School sweetheart Sue Anderson on December 29th, 1962. They remained a couple through thick and thin for 59 years.
Rick retired from Castle Concrete as Vice President of Operations after 41 years. After retirement Rick and Sue enjoyed RVing as Snowbirds all over the South United States. He was happiest tinkering in the garage on anything that needed an adjustment. Going to car shows and especially fishing with his family. More often than not his fishing turned into snoozing lakeside while everyone else watched his fishing rod for any bites.
Rick was preceded in death by his wife Sue, parents Francis and Thelma.
Rick is survived by his two children Kris and David, their spouses Tom and Lisa: Older brother Kirk and his wife Anita: 4 Grandchildren Jason, Jonathon, Corrie, and Matthew: 6 Great Grandchildren Conner, Zoey, Kayli, Cason, Kayden, and Kolton. Adopted son and daughter Jeff and Kim Kretzer.
Our family wishes to thank all of the caregivers that were a huge part of the latter part of both Rick and Sue’s life. You all performed a lot of heavy lifting, and we are eternally grateful.
