Rickey Lee Richardson

Rick passed away in Colorado Springs on 23 September 2021 at the age of 66. He is survived by his sister Linda Sue Pickard and daughters Stephanie Marie Peterson, Melissa Sue Richardson and Jennifer Ann Szych and step children Vicenta, Elvira and Jesse Casarez. His grandchildren include, Alexis Streeter, Abigail Peterson, Anastasia Ante, Michael Gould, Amadeus Gould, Hailey Szych, Demarcus Casarez and Keith Jackson. Preceded in death by his Parents Charles and Sachiko Humerickhouse.

Committal services will be held on 14 October at 2:00 pm at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Lawton/Fort Sill Oklahoma.

Rick was born on 21 June 1955 in Naha Okinawa Japan to Sachiko and Wesley Richardson. He was the beloved brother of Linda Sue Pickard and beloved father of Stephanie Marie Peterson, Melissa Sue Richardson and Jennifer Ann Szych. Rick joined the US Army in 1973. He served his country proudly for 20 years retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant in July of 1993. His specialty was Light Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic in the Ordnance Corps. He earned his Airborne Wings in 1974 and served his country in numerous places throughout the world some of which include Fort Bragg, NC, Fort Wainwright, AK, and as a First Sergeant at Fort Sill, OK. He won numerous awards and accommodations to include the Meritorious Service Medal 1OLC, Army Accommodation Medal 1OLC, Army Achievement Medal 4OLC, Good Conduct Medal 6th award, Overseas Service Ribbon, the US Army and Canadian Parachutist Badge, Driver and Mechanic Badge and Expert Marksmanship Badge.

After retiring from the Army he worked for the United States Postal Service, retiring when his time was completed. Those that remember Rick will remember his love for playing the sport of basketball and his love for fishing.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
