She loved music and musicals and played four different instruments, including the piano. She was an animal lover--especially dogs--and adored her "grand furbabies." She was an avid wild bird watcher who loved cardinals, hummingbirds, goldfinches, and flamingoes. She called many states home, namely Florida, North Carolina, Hawaii, Illinois, and--lastly and longest--Colorado, for over 35 years. Her foremost love was the Holy Scriptures, Christmas and Easter, and her Risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She was born March 5th, 1938, the only daughter to J. D. Ezelle and Ruth Morton Ezelle. She married--and is survived by--Ramon Edgar Schafer, Sr. on May 13th, 1961 in Melbourne, Florida. She was preceded in death by her brother, Don, and oldest son, Duane Alan Schafer. She is survived by three children: Patricia Anne Pillars (Gary), Donald Wayne Schafer (Anita), and Dr. Ramon E. Schafer, Jr. (Jen); six grandchildren: Raquel Joy, Heather Lynne, Taylor Rose, Kristin Joy, Jennifer Rae and Dr. Joshua Ramon Allen Schafer; and five great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Village Seven Presbyterian Church, 4040 Nonchalant Cir S, Colorado Springs, CO 80917.
Pat will be laid to rest in Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80925.
