Leroy was born on April 8. 1943 in Salida, Colorado. He grew up on his parent’s ranch in Moffat, Colorado. After his father passed away, he moved to Salida with his mother where he finished his schooling
Leroy worked for the Colorado Highway Department, for Weather Master Hybrids, Inc., drove a semi-truck across country, and eventually started his own commercial business, EverReady Grounds Maintenance and Snow Removal. He ran and grew his business for thirty years until he retired in December of Last year, 2016.
Leroy enjoyed fishing, four-wheel driving in the mountains, boating, volunteering as an auctioneer, and taking their trained therapy dog, Ginger, visiting in the local hospitals and nursing homes. He and his wife Beverly, also enjoyed traveling in their RV and took many trips in and outside of the US mainland.
Leroy is survived by his wife, Beverly Ann Bunker, a sister, Toy Jean (Bob) Jackson of British Columbia, Canada, a son Shane (Barbie) Bunker of Woodland Park, Colorado, and a daughter, Terri Svendsen (Eric) of Flemington, NJ. He is also survived by his large family from Beverly’s prior marriage, Cindy (Todd) Gibson, Laura Walker (deceased), John (Melissa) Hunt, Terry (Steve) Sibert, Scott (Nicole) Hunt and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in passing by a son, James (Victoria) Bunker of Sickerville, NJ, and a daughter, Tammi Bunker of Colorado Springs, CO.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 10:00 am at Church on the Ranch, 3685 Jeannine Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80917 (719-531-7444)
