She was also a loving mother figure to Samantha Carroll, whom she welcomed into her home and heart for many years, and a special family friend to Luis Hernandez and his daughter, Catalina Hernandez, who were like family to her.
Mona held a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Counseling, which she used to transform lives. Her work was not just a career; it was a lifelong mission to uplift and empower those around her.
Her dedication to improving lives extended beyond her professional role. Mona was deeply involved in mentoring and supporting others, always offering a helping hand or a listening ear. She had an extraordinary ability to make people feel valued and understood, whether they were lifelong friends, new acquaintances, or family.
Mona’s love for her family was the cornerstone of her life. She spent endless hours with her nieces and nephews, creating cherished memories through special outings, heartfelt conversations, and playful moments. She especially loved playing games with her family, bringing everyone together for fun and laughter. She also found joy in the simple pleasures of life—being outdoors, spending time with her loved ones, and building connections with those around her. Mona’s heart was always open, and her kindness left a lasting impact on everyone she met.
Her greatest joy and accomplishment was raising her son, Mykel, and shaping him into the remarkable person he is today. Mona’s legacy of love, generosity, and lifelong commitment to helping others will continue to inspire all who knew her.
