Melany was born in Denver Colorado October 15th 1968. Her parents, Les and Diane, provided a happy lifestyle for her and her two older siblings, Leslie and Michelle. They moved down to Colorado Springs in 1977 where Les had purchased a farm. He felt it would be a good influence on their children. The purchase was agreed upon by just a handshake arrangement. They raised livestock which the whole family helped with. There’s always a lot of work to be done on a farm.
In school Melany was active in soccer and in theater. She maintained an interest in theater into her adult life. She saw several Broadway shows, and shows at the theater in Denver. She also learned singing, which she also did as an adult at venues that supported audience participation. At karaoke events she would always stand out from the rest of the crowd. She also had a favorite band that was happy to have her sing with them.
After school, she went to work at a conferencing firm. At the time it was called ATS, and later renamed to Premiere. She managed corporate conferences and coordinated large venue electronic events, like shareholder meetings. She was very conversational with her coworkers, and remained friends with a lot of those people even after she left her employment there.
On September 15th 2000 she and Joe Chadwick married. It was no longer necessary for Melany to work. With the full and loving support of her husband, she transitioned to be “a lady of leisure”. This allowed her to spend more time on social events and to expand on being such an expert chef. She’d frequently post pictures of her culinary creations on social media. She’d also plan wonderful vacations and events that were always a lot of fun.
Her favorite holiday was Halloween. She’d always participate in parties and events and dressing up with costumes. Ironic as it might sound, we never gave out trick or treat candy because we’d never be at home on Halloween itself.
She was very social. She kept in contact with many people and knew what was happening with them in their lives. Her husband was really saved by her from a lifetime of being socially isolated. Just by being with Melany, it was easy to be social and to interact with many friends.
Melany passed away unexpectedly on Monday September 13th 2021. She was 52 years of age. She is survived by her husband Joe, her parents Les and Diane, her brother Leslie, and sister Michelle who is married to Scott and have three children Drake, Reece and Ryley. She will be dearly missed.
