Just learned at this late date of the passing of Mary Jo. I met her at work and always enjoyed her upbeat, playful spirit. Heartfelt condolences to all of her loved ones.

I met this beautiful young person, Mary Jo, the first day of 7th grade at Air Academy Junior High School. We became great friends through junior high and high school, she was someone I always looked forward to seeing and talking with every day.  My heart is heavy, we lost a wonderful person way too soon. Everyone loved Mary Jo, for she was simply unwaveringly sweet and kind.  Rest In Peace my friend.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Mary Jo’s family. I went to school with Mary Jo. We played soccer together and I will never forget her infectious smile and laugh! Mary Jo welcomed everyone and made sure no one felt left out. The world lost a dynamic soul this past week. She may be gone but will never be forgotten! RIP Mary Jo.

So sorry to hear this.  I played soccer with Mary Jo at Air Academy High School, Attackers (competitive soccer) and in the Adult soccer League in Colorado Springs.  She was such a funny and great girl.  My sincere condolences to the family and dear friends.  🙏🙏

Growing up with Mary Jo is one of my life’s fondest memories. As neighbors, we saw each other most every day. Mary Jo’s beautiful smile was always the first thing to greet me. If Mary Jo was not at our home, my sister Susan and I were at hers. There was always an open door at our homes and us kids wore a trail between our family’s front doors. Though, very rarely would you find Mary Jo indoors, if we weren’t playing softball, soccer, kick the can, riding bikes, or hide and seek, then you’d find us up in the trees, climbing rocks, exploring our creek, riding our horse and pony, or sneaking off to Stop-N-Shop to buy candy and sodas. Mary Jo was not only my friend, but part of our family. I always looked up to MJ, she was the glue that bound us kids together, she was and always will be that beautiful bright light that shined upon all of us. My heart truly aches knowing of her passing, I will forever hold Mary Jo in my heart. Sending my condolences to MJ’s entire family and friends.

MJ wow I cant believe your gone...my heart is heavy and my prayers go out to your family and especially Riley....you were like Peter pan with your infectious personality and love for people. You will be dearly missed...God speed my friend until we meet again...

Dear Rykies - my heart is just broken with this news. I had always hoped I’d see Mary Jo again. Though the course of our lives took us far from each other, my memories of childhood with Mary Jo are sweet and vivid. They seem like they  happened just yesterday.  She was my best friend, my little sister, protector, and  maid of honor.  Her smile was wide and infectious - she brought so much joy to our adventures. Two little girls, then teens, could never have had as much fun as Mary Jo and I did growing up together.  I am deeply saddened and  regret losing touch. It is a comfort to know she is safely at rest with George and Mrs. Rykie.
