Mabel Swarts

Mabel was born September 1971 in David, Chiriqui, Panama to Vielka Rodriguez and Rodrigo Alfaro. She had one sister that was born when she was 20 years old and cared for her like a daughter. Mabel graduated from David Institute High School then headed off for the big city to continue her education at the University of Panama, in Panama City, Panama.

In 1993, Mabel met Kenneth Swarts, who fell head over heels for her beautiful smile, while studying in Panama City and was married in less than a year. Together, they traveled all over the world and never really settled down until they got to Colorado Springs.

Mabel loved to travel and especially enjoyed the ocean and the beach. She was also very proud of her collection of shoes and watches (that never had the right time). She was always willing to help somebody out if they needed help, but she most of all cherished her family and friends

Mabel is survived by her loving husband Kenneth; her children, Kenneth Wayne Swarts Jr., and Sean P. Swarts; her mother, Vielka Rodriguez; her sibling, Victoria Prieksat with her husband Joe Prieksat and their children Joe, Joy, and Camila; as well as aunts and uncles in Panama and close friends.

A visitation will be held 20 December, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm with a Life Celebration Service starting at 2:00 pm at Swan-Law Funeral Directors.

Mabel will be cremated and per her wishes her ashes will someday be spread from the Bridge of America, over the Panama Canal.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to charity for cancer research and support of your choice in Mabel’s name.
