Born in 1941 in Florence, Colorado to Edith and Howard Newberry, Lucille lived in Fairplay, Colorado for a good part of her childhood and eventually moved to Colorado Springs with her family. She graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1959 where she met and then married her loving husband Don in 1960. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and loving homemaker. Later in life she went back to work at a small toy store in town, where she established special friendships with her coworkers and spent most of her earnings on toys for her grandchildren.
She enjoyed family vacations and her travels with Don to places like Europe and the Caribbean. She loved weekly outings with her best friend, Carma, who she adored like a sister. She dedicated her life to the happiness of her family and their comfort. The holidays where her favorite time of the year because everyone came together to celebrate. Cooking was a passion for her and she loved to plan and prepare meals and was an incredible cook and hostess.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Beverly Prather and Nancy Davis. She is survived by her dedicated and loving husband Don, and children Camie (Tim) Beagan, Connie (Steven) Howarth and Christopher (Julie) Cole. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Cole Beagan, Tanner Beagan, Alyssa Howarth, Kristen Howarth and Lindsay Howarth.
A memorial service will be held honoring Lucille on January 29, 2015 at 1:00pm at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
