June L. Bishop

June Louise Bishop went to be with the Lord April 10, 2014. Her husband, Stan Bishop was at her side. She was born in Hemet, California, in 1940 to Roger and Margaret (Freling) Griffith. She attended school in Hemet, California through junior high, and graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1958. Through the years, she worked for an auto dealership, and was active with her husband in their church.

In 1969, she married her soul mate and best friend, Stan Bishop. She is survived by two sons, Frank Thomas Wirkes (Susann Maloney) and John Roger Wirkes (Rhonda Dillow). She has a twin sister, Joan Palmer of Colorado Springs, and another sister, Carol Hellem of Colorado Springs. Three grandchildren, Samantha, Shane, and Katie were her pride and joy.

June was "Pee Wee" to those close to her. She loved people and was loved in return by them. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her, especially her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Margaret Griffith, and a nephew, Billy Palmer.

A celebration of life will take place Thursday, April 17, 2014, at 1:00pm at the Rocky Mountain Calvary Church, 4285 North Academy, Colorado Springs. Her son, John, will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer you make a donation to Rocky Mountain Calvary Church, or to your favorite charity.
