Judith Grace (Howe) Trimble, 80, of Colorado Springs, CO (formerly of Syracuse, NY) passed away on November 10, 2024. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband, John Trimble and her step-son, Robert Trimble. She will be remembered as the loving daughter, wife, stepmom, grandmother, friend and neighbor to all.
Judy was the only child of Vernon and Beatrice Howe of Syracuse, NY. She was a graduate of Syracuse University earning a Master’s Degree in Education. Judy was a gifted and passionate teacher of social studies and geography. She taught for both the Syracuse and Colorado Springs school systems. Her devotion for her students extended beyond the academic year as she and her husband John annually chaperoned summer trips for students to experience the great outdoors. In addition, Judy enjoyed theater and music and hosted international musicians bi-yearly while working for the Colorado School District.
Judy was known for her love of nature which she shared with her late husband John. They were active members of the Adirondack Hiking Club and proud “46’ers” having hiked all 46 peaks. Upon moving to Colorado Springs in 1983, they pursued river rafting and horseback riding in addition to hiking. Judy was a skilled photographer as well, with the ability to capture the essence of any subject that perked her interest.
Judy was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church in Colorado Springs. She was active in their global mission’s program and made a trip to Haiti in 2011 to help survivors devastated by that year’s earthquake.
Judy is survived by her stepchildren Patrick (Joe) Trimble of Syracuse, NY; Theresa Trimble (Anibal Lopes) of Raleigh, NC; Diane Trimble of Baldwinsville, NY and Linda Trimble of Philadelphia, PA. Judy was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her sister-in-law’s, Emily (Trimble) Zemenz and Eunice (Trimble) Black predeceased her.
The family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the dedicated staff of Aspen Siesta. Their excellent care enabled our beloved stepmom to remain pain free for the better part of her gradual decline.
As per her wishes, no funeral or memorial services will take place. Her remains, along with those of her husband John, will rest in her family plot of 193N (Section 12) at Onondaga Valley Cemetery in Syracuse, NY.
