John Oliver Tally

John Olivier Tally of Colorado Springs, CO died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 6, 2011. He was born in Oberlin, Kansas, May 1, 1936 to Guy and Vera Tally. After graduating from Decatur Community HS in 1954 in Oberlin KS he served in the US Navy on the flight deck of the USS Shangri-La. Upon returning from the Navy John married Anne Pavelsek on March 5, 1959. Immediately after marriage John and Anne moved to Great Falls, Montana where John worked for Northwest Airlines for 35 years. Following retirement in 1994 John and Anne moved to Colorado Springs, CO to be near their children and grandchildren. John was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, his cabin in the mountains, his dogs, making birdhouses and feeding the birds at his house and cabin. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. He had many friends and was liked by all. He will be missed.

John was the proud father of two daughters, Jan and Jeannette and two grandchildren, Daniel and Caitlin. In addition John is survived by his wife Anne and sisters Juanita and Marie. The memorial service will be held 16 April at 11 am at Mountain View Mortuary 2350 Montebello Square Drive, Colorado Springs.
