John Edwin Mott

John Edwin Mott, 92 passed from this life in peace on June 30, 2022 at a local hospital. The funeral will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday July 14, 2022 at Memorial Gardens Chapel. A graveside service will follow. Pastor Mike Grebenik will be officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. There will be a reception immediately following the service.

John (Jack) was born in Strong City, KS on March 28, 1930 to Jesse and Florence Mott who are deceased. He was married September 12, 1949 to Virginia who proceeded him in death. He is survived by his children Theresa (Bill) Crider, Jerome (Debbie) Mott, Marty (Rick) O'Neill, Kenneth (Melodie) Mott, Cecilia (Tim) Buckman, Christine (Bob) Bowren and Bradley (Eun Joo) Mott. He is loved by sixteen grandchildren, and blessed by twenty-six great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Dwight sisters Agnes, Mary, Rhea and Rita. His brothers Joe, Billy, Paul, David and Phillip survive.

Jack was a part owner of the International Harvester dealership, Colorado Springs Equipment Company serving as the parts department manager and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He greatly enjoyed many sports and was a star athlete at Colorado Springs High School. In retirement his great joy was “going up the hill” to Cripple Creek whenever the opportunity presented.
