James Keith White was born to Carl and Hattie White in La Junta, CO on June 28, 1936. He was the youngest of 5 children. James graduated from La Junta High School in 1954 and enlisted in the United States Air Force, following the footsteps of his older brothers. He served in the Air Force for 4 years. Upon completion of his service, he settled in Omaha, Nebraska, where he married his first wife, Shirley and had 2 beautiful daughters, Jeri and Dona. He lived in Omaha until 1969 while working in construction for Lueder Construction Company.
In 1969, he moved to Fairmont, MN for a project working on the local hospital expansion. Here is where he met his second wife, Sam and had two beautiful children, Jamie and Curtis. He left the construction business and took a job with Teledyne Aerospace, where he grew his career for 11 years. While in Fairmont, he enlisted into the Minnesota Army National Guard and served 18.5 years. He enjoyed the comradery of the National Guard, particularly the training and the mentoring of the new enlistees. His weekends away at Camp Ripley were one thing he looked forward to throughout the year. During this time, he also went back to school to become a Radio Broadcaster and graduated from Riverside Technical College in 1991 and Austin Community College in 1992.
In 1992, he moved back to Colorado Springs, Colorado to be closer to his ailing mother and sister. He became employed at Western Forge, manufacturing Snap On tools retiring in 2001. Here is where he met his third wife, Patricia (Pat). He loved exploring Colorado and coming back to his roots. He loved Colorado roads trips and just driving through the beautiful country. His goal was to drive every road in Colorado.
James Keith White is survived by his wife Patricia (Pat), his daughter Jeri Jacobs (Dennis), his daughter Dona Raye Anderson (Donny), his daughter Jamie White, his son Curtis White, his grandchildren Colton (Shelby) Jacobs and Devin Jacobs, his great grandchild Gage Jacobs, his stepdaughter Tracy Hornbaker, step grandchildren Melissa Simon, Chad Hornbaker, Haley Hornbaker, Alicia Griffen, Seth Hornbaker.
James Keith White was predeceased in death by his mother, Hattie White, his father Carl White, his brothers, Harold White, Durwood White, William White, his sister, Dorothy Badgett, his stepdaughter Terry Brown.
Services for James Keith White will be held graveside at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 Hancock Expressway, Colorado Springs, CO 80903 on June 7, 2024 at 12:30 pm, followed by a celebration of life lunch at Amanda’s Cantina, 3625 Colorado Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80904.
