Irene Wyatt

Irene "Reenie" was a faithful homemaker, wife and mother. Her passion was raising her children, and especially, taking care of babies. In addition to her own family, she was a foster mother to more than 40 children over 10 years. She also loved being a military wife and was very proud of the career and service of her husband, John Wyatt, who predeceased her in 2010. She loved traveling, and making new friends in the United States and Europe over the years, but also enjoyed reuniting with her family in Akron, Ohio whenever possible. She was a Christian and member of several churches over the years. Irene was also a member of several TOPS chapters in various states for over 50 years.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Wyatt, her parents, Lorenzo and Lille Cutright, four sisters, Luella Lane, Elsie Cowden, Eva Ritz and Audra Cutright, and two brothers, Raymond Cutright and Milford Cutright. She is survived by her children, Joan Wyatt James (Scott James) of St. Augustine, FL, Jeanette Marie Slusher (Monty Slusher) of St. Johns, FL, John Henry Wyatt, Jr. (Debbie Wyatt) of Cassatt, SC, Jeanell Diane Whitt (estranged), seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

She most recently resided at Symphony of St. Augustine Assisted Living Center, and the family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Symphony as well as the Vitas Hospice Care Team for their care and support over the past months and weeks.
