Helen Krieger

Helen “Pat” Krieger passed away peacefully on November 6th, 2024. Born October 10th, 1935, in Titusville, PA. Daughter of the late G. Clifford (Jennie) Patterson and Mildred (Ollie) Nelson. Survived by two daughters: Lorelei (Bill) Sikorski and Elizabeth (Rob) Carver; two step-grandchildren: Heather Sikorski and Brittany (Ronnie) Romero, brother Thomas Patterson, niece Kristi Greeb and nephew Ian Greeb, stepsister Sharon Verdick, and many cousins and their families. Preceded by two sisters Patricia Patterson-Greeb, Nancy Verdick; and nephew David Pfifer.

Pat moved to Denver, CO at 16 years old. She worked for Mountain Bell after graduating from East High School. She married and moved to Colorado Springs where she had two children. She earned her BS in English and became a teacher at Blair Junior College and St. Mary’s at Fort Carson. She was a technical writer and editor for civilian contractors. She volunteered for the El Paso County Sherriff's Office by introducing Shakespeare classes to the women’s jail inmates. She always had a love of food and cooking. She started a gourmet group with 11 other like-minded close friends. She was involved with Toastmasters for many years. Pat was a voracious reader and studied Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell. She enjoyed writing, painting, and gardening. She lived in Stratmoor Hills for over 65 years.

The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Monument Valley Park for providing compassionate care over the last two years, and Bloom Hospice for helping us through the last part of her physical life.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00pm Saturday, November 23rd at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N Cascade Ave Colorado Springs, CO 80903. Reception to follow at The Cheyenne Canon Inn, 2030 W Cheyenne Rd, Colorado Springs 80906.

For the Reception, We recommend taking I-25 to Cimarron St, turn right, then turn left onto 8th St., go 2 miles and turn right onto Cheyenne Blvd. The Inn will be 1.6 miles down and on the right.

There are 10 parking spots at the Inn on top of the dirt driveway. The driveway is just past the Inn.

For those with no mobility issues, please park at the Starsmore Visitor Center’s parking lot and walk across the Evans Ave Bridge to the stone steps leading to the Inn.

Option is to drop off and then park at Starsmore.
