Harry Bruce Hiskett, 88, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on January 4, 2024. Born on July 22, 1935, in Isabel, Kansas, Harry was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Harry was a quiet man with a great sense of humor, known for his love of practical jokes. He had a passion for woodworking and created many beautiful works of art for family and friends. One of his most cherished projects was designing, manufacturing, and installing a new sign for the front of the Cookson
United Methodist Church. Harry also enjoyed spending time on his boat, hosting family and friends for fun-filled days on the lake. He was a skilled craftsman who took on various home renovations and auto repair. He always strived to find better solutions and was often heard to say during the planning phases "I believe a guy could do better." Harry was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, neighbors, and friends without hesitation or complaint. He spent many hours fixing and maintaining farm equipment with his father, ensuring the smooth operation of their homestead.
Harry is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Ann Hiskett, his daughter Leslie Renee Morton (Hiskett), and his granddaughters Zoe Elaine Morton and Emma Marie Morton. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Bruce Hiskett, his mother, Edith Hiskett, his sister, Mary Jo Hiskett, and his son, Bruce Elliott Hiskett.
Harry attended Isabel High School before embarking on a successful career. He worked as a Tool Designer at Boeing, Cessna, Lear Jet, and Associated Company. Additionally, Harry built a business specializing in custom silage harvesting in western Kansas and surrounding areas.
A military veteran, Harry proudly served in the US Army. His dedication to his country was unwavering.
Harry worshipped at Cookson United Methodist Church in Cookson, Oklahoma, where he found solace and community.
Harry Bruce Hiskett will be remembered as a loving family man, a skilled craftsman, and a dedicated member of his community. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A memorial service for Harry will be held Friday, January 26, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
