Delores Camille (Mortier) Snyder-McCullough went to her heavenly home on Friday, March 10, 2023. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 2, 1939 to Julien Mortier and Maria (VandenBrulle) Mortier of Belgium. Passing away in Colorado Springs, Colorado she was lovingly surrounded by her husband Owen McCullough and her children Kimberly (Scott) McCullough, Cheryl (Tracy) Lang, Renee (Robert) Mooney, Jeff (Melissa) Snyder and step-children Gwen (Chip) Jackson and Coleen (Ron) Cody. She was preceded in death by her children Lynette Snyder (deceased) and Keith Snyder (deceased).
Delores was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and Friend to many. To say she will be missed by many is an understatement. She had a smile that lit up her face. She was kind, compassionate, bold, loving, feisty and her family was her most prized possession. She grew up in St. Clair Shores, Michigan with brothers Maurice Mortier and Raymond Mortier. She graduated St. Gertrude High School in 1957. She married Lawrence E. Snyder on April 23, 1960 and they went on to have six children together and spent many years running businesses together and raising their crew.
On July 5, 1996 she married Owen McCullough, together they lived a life filled with much love and family. During their last few years together, they moved into Broadmoor Court Assisted Living. Not only were they filled with many visits from their family but also daily love by all the caretakers and residents of the center. The family would like to thank Broadmoor Court for the unending love and support that they have bestowed upon our parents.
Delores spent her time crocheting special gifts for many people. She crocheted many baby blankets for her 16 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. She made many gifts for her caretakers that surrounded her with daily love. She enjoyed making scrap books and holiday cards for her family and friends.
Delores’ legacy will carry on forever. She was a faithful woman who loved the Lord with a devoted heart. While she will be missed by many, we are grateful of the eternal hope that we have in knowing we will see her again in Heaven.
