David is survived by his daughter Aimee Louise Spillane; grandchildren Mary Katherine Rogers, Matthew James Rogers and Elizabeth Lee Winkler; great grandchildren George Thomas Winkler and Carolyn Kathleen Winkler, and his beloved cat Oliver. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Catherine Lee, and his children Joseph Matthew, Carolyn Lee, and Andrew John.
David was born July 24, 1917, the son of Cornelius and Gertrude Spillane in Minot, North Dakota. He was married to Catherine Scheuer on December 30, 1944. He was a career military man, and a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He flew 35 missions on the B-17 in WWII, and retired as an Army Colonel. He enjoyed his family life and spending time with friends playing bridge in his free time. He also was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Parish.
