David James Iverson

Dave had a distinguished military career of 20 years where he achieved the rank of Senior Master Sergeant; his last assignment was at the US Air Force Academy as coach of the Cadet Rifle Team and Chief of Combat Arms Training. After the Air Force, he served another 16-year career with the Army Corps of Engineers.

Dave was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed many hobbies, especially hunting and shooting his bow in tournaments. He volunteered his time to the things he was passionate about including his work with the Colorado Bowhunters Association (CBA) and, the Air Force Academy Archery Club. He was also a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

Dave lived the last 51 years in Colorado Springs and Monument with his wife of 60 years.

Dave passed with his family by his side, he is survived by his wife Marianna P. Iverson, son David E. Iverson, daughter Kristen Iverson Guillory, son-in-law Kevin “Gil” Guillory, daughter-in-law Sharon Iverson, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, his sister Muriel Gardner and brother Stewart Iverson. He is preceded in death by his son Michael W. Iverson.

A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
