wife, daughter and
sister passed away peace-
fully on October 18, 2016,
in Colorado Springs, Colo-
rado. Dana was born in
Denver, Colorado on
November 20, 1964, the
youngest of 3 children to
Walter and Eleanor
Scheuneman.
Dana graduated from
Wheat Ridge High School in
1983. She then earned BA
degrees in Psychology and
Communication and a
Masters degree in
counseling Psychology from
the University of Colorado,
Denver. After graduation
she began a career as a grief
counselor with special
emphasis in pet loss
support. She was the
director of the Changes
Program at the CSU Vet-
erinary Teaching Hospital in
Fort Collins and more
recently provided pet loss
support for families in the
Colorado Springs
community. Supporting
families through the loss of
their beloved pets was a
passion in Dana's life and
she helped hundreds of
families with their grief
throughout her career.
Other passions in Dana's life
included family vacations,
Denver Broncos and Colo-
rado Buffaloes football, Star
Trek, American history and
the beautiful Colorado
outdoors.
Dana will be greatly missed
and her memory kept alive
by her husband Steve, her
daughter Erin and her son
Noah; her mother Eleanor
Scheuneman, her sister
Linda Lewis and her brother
Eric Scheuneman as well as
a host of family members
and friends.
Dana's memorial service will
take place at First United
Methodist Church, 420 N.
Nevada Ave, Colorado
Springs, CO on Saturday
November 5th at 2:00 PM.
