Cheri was born in Bellingham, Washington to Arthur and Ethel Johnson and graduated from Bellingham H.S. All through childhood, she danced in numerous performances even en pointe in ballet. She married Robert Strahl and raised three wonderful children, Michael, Greg and Julie. Later they moved to Burlington, WA for six years and then to Colorado Springs, CO in 1971. Spending time with family and friends was the best part of her life. Cheri always treasured the time she could spend with her children. They were all special to her. Years later she married John Walsh in 1991 until his death in 1997.
She had a true heart to give of her time and lived out her Christian faith in serving others, collecting items for those in need and working with children. She was kind, faithful and sincere. Cheri was the one who simply called or dropped off the card or flowers and said “I was just in the neighborhood and thinking of you.”
As an active founding member of the Church at Woodmoor, she graciously served with the women of the church coordinating many meals and events. She volunteered at Discovery Canyon school and loved helping children. In addition, she enjoyed cooking, gardening & flowers and all the animals on her property. She also belonged to the Gleneagle women and gourmet cooking groups. Cheri was a crafter as well and enjoyed making wreaths & baskets and was involved in craft shows.
She is survived by son Michael and wife Jill of Charlotte, NC and grandkids (Erik, Chris, Jeni, Adam and Katrina) & great grandkids, son Greg of Colorado Springs & granddaughter (Erica) & great grandson of Everett, WA and her daughter Julie and husband Bob of Littleton, CO with grandkids (Meg and Danielle).
Memorial video to come.
