Cherryl Ann was born on December 27, 1951, in Colorado Springs, CO, where she lived the majority of her years. As a gifted teacher, she followed the Lord’s calling to bring children to Him as she helped them be excited about learning. Countless lives were impacted for the Kingdom of God.
Her family and friends will cherish wonderful memories, especially her loving, nurturing spirit and her refreshing and witty sense of humor. Cherryl was always there if you needed love, a laugh, a shoulder to cry on, or a listening ear. Often, with just one “good honk,” she would remind you that the eternal perspective - that exists by grace through faith in Jesus - is the end of all matters.
Cherryl was inspired by the beauty of His creation. That passion was a common thread woven into every facet of her life, from painting to never missing the aspens change in “the high country.” She saw the same beauty in people, and those blessed to know her saw that beauty in her.
All who knew Cherryl knew that her first love was Jesus. Her greatest joy was sharing His love with others and to walk alongside them in discipleship and mutual growth in Christ. At all times, no matter the challenges or victories in life, she sought the Lord and ultimately saw all things as an opportunity to bring glory to His name.
Cherryl was preceded in death by Georgia Lou Evans (Mother) and Richard Dale Bailey (Father). She is survived by her brother Craig (Deeon); her sons with Steve Babbitt: Mark (Becky), David (Lara), and James (Sarah); and her three grandchildren, Brenden, Mallory, and Luke.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Little Log Church (149 High St, Palmer Lake, CO 80133) on Friday, October 28 at 2:00 pm. A reception will immediately follow in the Fellowship Hall, and please dress casually – no black suits/dresses.
Rather than flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship of Colorado, in honor of Cherryl’s career and love of children. Simply follow the clickable link located below the obituary in the "Donations" section.
