Charles was born in Furth Bavaria, Germany, after his birth he was adopted by his loving family, Henry and Mildred Douglas. The family was stationed at several military posts but in 1973 the family settled in Falcon where he grew up with his brothers and sister. Charles graduated from Falcon High School in 1978. He was a serviceman in the U.S. Navy where he proudly served his country from 1983 to 1985. After leaving the Navy, he worked as a truck driver for a number of companies nationwide and in the Colorado Springs area. Recently retired, he enjoyed his hobby of leather working and tinkering on his beloved 1990 Chevy Pick Up.
Charles is survived by the love of his life and wife of 22 years, Georgia "Kim", Daughter Alys R. Hammer and Granddaughter Zoey R. Hammer. Father Henry A. Douglas, brothers Matthew W. Douglas (Rose), Mark A. Douglas (Aimee), sister Theresa A. Douglas-Parsram, 2 nephews, 3 nieces, 2 great nieces, 1 great nephew. In addition, many beloved extended family members and friends.
Charles is proceeded in death by his Mother Mildred F. Douglas and Grandson Micah E. Hammer.
A funeral service for Charles will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. A reception will follow the service. A memorial service and inurnment will be held at a later date in the spring at Pikes Peak National Cemetery.
