Charles (Charley) O. Armer of Calhan CO was born in New Mexico on September 20th 1941 to George and Ethel (Pruit) Armer. He passed away at his residence surrounded by family and loved ones on Monday September 9th, 2013 just short of his 72nd birthday.
Charley was the youngest of three boys. He had many fond memories of times with his brothers, grandmother and parents that he cherished. As a young man, Charley spent years living and working in Alaska.
Charley enjoyed fixing up, painting and working on cars and when he came to Colorado he worked for Motor Parts, in Colorado Springs. On May 5th 1973 Charley married Barbara Brauer and they had two daughters. In 1978 Charley and Barbara purchased Automotive Parts & Equipment Company – NAPA in Calhan Colorado. Charley owned the parts store for over 30 years and truly enjoyed his time there. Charley was a hard worker and spent much of his time at their business. In his spare time, he also enjoyed fishing, helping at the ranch, driving to see new destinations and spending time with his family.
Charley is survived by his wife, Barbara of Calhan CO; his daughters Brandie (Mark) Flanders of Phoenix AZ; and Joleen (TJ) Fischer of Strasburg CO. His grandchildren Kaleb, Gavin and Adyson. He is also survived by his two brothers James (Shirley) Thompson of TX; Jimmy Armer of NV; daughters Mary, Tracy and Tanja. He was preceded in death by his step- father James Thompson, mother Ethel and son Jimmy.
Charley will be honored at a memorial service at 11:00am on Monday September 16th at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Calhan CO.
