Charlene Trujillo

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charlene Carreon Trujillo, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Charlene went to be with the lord on 11/12/23 after a long hard battle with Cancer. She was born on Feb 23, 1950, in San Pedro, CA. and was raised in Trinidad and Pueblo Colorado. She was preceded in death by her grand parents, parents, 1 son (Keith Trujillo), 1 grandson (Erik Barton), in laws, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 55 years Arnold, her 5 children Kevin Trujillo, Kimberly (Frank) Barton, Kerri (Jimmy) Valdez, Kristi (Robert) Byk, Kurt Trujillo, 1 sister Lori Cummings, 2 brothers Randy and Marvin Carreon, 3 sister in laws, 2 brother in laws, 6 grandchildren Desarae, Mathew, Joshua, Brandon, Breawna, and Brittne. Charlene also had 11 great grandchildren Nevaeh, Bella, Lilly, Melanie, JJ, Arrelli, Dominick, Levy, Nickolas, Legion, Ava, and one more on the way.

Char was sick for a large part of her life but always bounced back; she was a strong woman. She enjoyed baking for the holidays, going camping, and spending time with her family. She loved to pray, read and write, and do crafts. She loved her family immensely and always made sure every family event, birthday, graduation, was not only acknowledged but was celebrated. She made all of her children individual books specific for each of them holding childhood keepsakes, cards and letters with inspirational and spiritual quotes. She found solace and peace in these activities, and they will forever be a part of her legacy.

She was a true matriarch of her family and ensured that God and the importance of family bonds were present in all of our lives. She demonstrated this through her mantra of prayer and gratitude for what God has provided, ensuring closeness by creating family memories and traditions, insisting we call instead of sending text messages, and that we always hug each other hello and goodbye. Her compassionate nature and innate nurturing abilities were clear in her role as a mother and grandmother, roles she deeply cherished.

Charlene lived a life characterized by her dedication to her faith, the boundless love for her family, and her thoughtful, caring, nurturing spirit. She departed from this life leaving a void that can never be filled, but her spirit lives on in the lessons she imparted, the values she instilled, and the love she shared with so many. Her life was a testament to the power of love, the importance of family, and the value of nurturing relationships. Her legacy lives on through her family, the lessons she gave, the love she showed, and the lives she blessed. She will be remembered as a remarkable woman whose life was a living example to the values she held dear: God first, care for each other, love one another, and be thankful for each other. She will be deeply missed.

A visitation for Charlene will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 9:45 AM to 10:30 AM at St Francis Catholic Church, 611 Logan Ave, Pueblo, CO 81004. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, 611 Logan Ave, Pueblo, CO 81004. A committal service will occur Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Imperial Memorial Gardens, 5450 Highway 78 West, Pueblo, CO 81005.
