Carolyn Kay Martin

Carolyn K Martin (Kari) was born January 31,1950 in Longmont, CO to Evelyn and Carl Link. Kari was the youngest of two girls. While growing up in Longmont she loved to go on trips, sew, cook, and spent time with her family at their cabin in Allenspark. Kari graduated from Longmont HS in 1968, University of North Colorado (UNC) in 1972, later obtaining her Master’s in Education trough Lesley College.

It was at UNC where Kari met the love of her life Harry Martin at the waiting pool in 1970. They were married in 1972 in Allenspark, CO. Soon thereafter they moved to Colorado Springs in 1972 and began that year began her career as a teacher of 1st and 3rd grade students at Ellicott School. She was blessed with her son, David, and as a family traveled all over the US.

Her love for travel continues, along with gardening, spending time in the mountains, hunting, fishing, spending time with the family, and her newest craze; learning to quilt.

Carolyn K Martin (Kari) is survived by husband Harry Martin, son David Martin, Sister Kathy Aden, Brother-in-law Ken Aden, her nephews: Nick and Matt Aden, Brother-In-Law Alan Martin and her nieces Ilana Jouppi , and Kimberly Clark.

Carolyn K Martin (Kari) was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service for Carolyn will be held Friday, July 7, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Memorial Gardens Cemetery & Funeral Home, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80910, followed by a reception from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
