The Shepard family ran local grocery stores on the west side. Where Bruce learned what it took to be successful. He took these lessons, and built a successful career in insurance, and then with his brother Bud developed Village Seven. Later he ventured on his own into real estate, investments, and any entrepreneurial endeavors he could find.
He was a man of quiet faith who felt serving others was his greatest calling. He served on the board of many organizations in the Christian, civic, and political arenas. Bruce was always looking for ways to give back to this city, that treated him so well.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 62 years Anne, whom he cherished and three daughters LeAnn Shepard, Patty (David) Haney, and SuEllen Shepard. Along with 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 219 E Bijou St. Colorado Springs, Colorado on Monday April 6, 2015 at 1:00pm.
