Brenda Marie Ivey was a caring and loving mother, sister, aunt and friend. Brenda left this world all too soon. Brenda fought a good fight to the very end. Her battle with diabetes was too overwhelming and she surrendered on January 19, 2024.
She was born to Betty Jean and Ervin Harris Jr on January 1, 1955. Both parents preceded her in death.
Brenda graduated from Roy J Wasson High School. She attended Blair Community College where she achieved her Associate Degree. She chased her dreams and went to Gary, Indiana to become a model. She returned to Colorado Springs and met the love of her life husband Lamont Ivey. Together, they had a son Vincent Ivey. Later in years Brenda had a daughter Alisha Godette, father William Godette.
Brenda was baptized in to Christ in the early 70’s at Lakeside Church of Christ. She later attended Church of Christ of Colorado Springs until her death.
Brenda worked for Ampex Corp for over 20 years as an Electronic Systems Assembler. She later worked for Lockheed Martin as a Test Engineer.
Brenda loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family especially French toast, liver and onions, sweet potato pie and banana pudding. She love watching the cooking channel with family and friends and playing games on her tablet. She love watching sports, news, traveling, adventures and being retired.
Brenda leaves behind her son Vincent D Ivey and daughter Alisha M Godette. Her Brother: Ernest A Harris (Karen) Her sisters: Gail A Johnson (Greg), Darlene D Jordan (Robert), Diana L Harrison, Ervene B Bonner, Nita James Her Nieces : Shaunda Hill (Kenneth), Tasha Blomenkamp (Cory), Cherice Overstreet (Jeffrey) Stacey Jackson Her Nephews: Ernest Harris Jr (Torina), Arthur Harrison IV(Aracely), Jason Harris, Jeremy Harris (Crystal), Warren Bonner Jr (Sonji).
Brenda leaves behind a host of family and friends who loved her very much. A special recognition to Maddie Ace and Norma “Lettie” Alvarado.
