Betty Adams Dille, beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, went to be with Jesus at the age of 73 on December 18, 2017, at her home in Colorado Springs, surrounded by her adoring family. She bravely fought brain cancer for 10 months after being given 1 month to live.
Betty was born in Notasulga, AL to Kenneth and Ruth Adams. She grew up in Summerville, SC with her three siblings, Carey, Judy, and Joe. She graduated salutatorian from Carol High School in Ozark, AL. Betty went to work for the US Army Civil Service the day after graduating from high school to help support the family. She met Henry W. Dille, Jr. at a Bible study in 1974 while he was in flight school at Fort Rucker, AL. It was love at first sight and they were married 6 months later. They were blessed with three children, Amy, Ben, and Adam.
Betty, better known as Grandma Honey, loved people (even strangers in the checkout line), long talks, laughing loud and long, showering everyone with gifts, reading, anything purple, animal prints, reality television, chocolate, her 7 sweet grandbabies, and Jesus. Her gentle southern accent, her beautiful singing voice, and her joyful infectious laughter are things that those who loved her will never forget.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, devoted husband of 43 years, Hank Dille, loving children Amy Clauss, Ben Dille, and Adam Dille, precious grandchildren Benjamin, Solomon, Addison, and Emerson Clauss, Aidan, Aaron, and Ashton Dille, siblings Judy Adams Ashford and Joe Adams, as well as innumerable other family and friends.
Visitation will take place Friday January 5, 2018 from 9-10 am at Red Rock Church, 6805 Corporate Drive, Colorado Springs, followed immediately by a Celebration of Life at 10 am. Burial will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO.
