Bernie’s life touched the hearts of so many and her presence in our lives made us better people. She taught us how to be strong, courageous, and love unconditionally. She made us laugh, feel loved, and always let us know how proud she was of us.
Bernie will be lovingly remembered by her husband Duane; her children, Brenda (Dan) Unruh, Glenda Niven, Robert (Alicia) Beyer, Dawn Shumway; her grandchildren Sheena (Jeremy) Pindell, Emily (Anthony) Trulson; her sister Mary Jean (Mike) Dempster; and many more grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends.
Although we will face each day with a piece of our hearts missing, she instilled so much in us that we will never be without her. So many of the things she loved and shared with us, has shaped the people we are today.
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free. I’m following the path that God has chosen for me. I took his hand when I heard him call. I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I’ve now found peace at the end of the day.
If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, oh yes, these things I too will miss. Don’t be burdened with times of sorrow. Look for the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savored many good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seems all to brief. Don’t lengthen your pain with undue grief. Lift up your heart and peace to thee, God wanted me now, to set me free.
