She was born to Richard and Dorothy at Treese on September 20, 1939 in Orange N.J. After graduating high school, Barbara attended Somerset Hospital School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. Barbara worked at Penrose Hospital on the Labor and Delivery floor for many years and later worked as a Merchandise Buyer at Current Inc.
Barbara was a beloved Mother to two children. Walter Fischer and Pamela Fischer Horton, and a loving Mother-in-law to Dede Fischer. Barbara was the most amazing Grandmother to three Grandchildren, Joshua Horton, Rebecka Horton Ceciliani and her husband Nick Ceciliani, and Walter Fischer. Barbara was also a Great Grandma to a precious Great Grandson due August of 2022.
Barbara was a member of First United Methodist Church for 47 years, where she was the Youth Singers coordinator, Youth and MYF coordinator and Sunday School teacher. Barbara is still lovingly known as “Mom” Fischer to many people who will never forget all that she had done for them.
Barbara played the piano, the B flat clarinet, was an incredible crafter, loved listening to Hymns, had the best laugh, and she never knew a stranger. Barbara had the most amazing faith in our Lord and Savior and was a good and faithful servant. Because Barbara’s faith was so strong, she often said, “Don’t cry when I go. I know where I am going, and I will see you when you get there.”
