Zane Whitesides, 31, of Colorado City, TX went to be with his Lord, while doing what he loved on December 10, 2020 in Colorado City. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the First Baptist Church in Colorado City, TX. Burial will follow in the Colorado City Cemetery under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Zane was born on February 13, 1989 in Sweetwater, TX to Carrmon Longley and Todd Whitesides. In his younger days, he broke horses and worked in the oil field, but his passion was Aviation. He married the love of his life, Jessica Nelson, on October 26, 2013. Together, they welcomed his pride and joy, Pax and Everlee. Zane’s top priority was his wife and children, a true family man at heart. He could always be found working on something; whether it was mechanicing, building something, reloading bullets, or playing golf; there was never a dull moment with Zane. When it came to helicopter pilots, he was hands down one of the best. His piloting skills made him the talk of the town wherever he flew. To know him was to love him. Loving, selfless, fearless, fun – all words used to describe “one of a kind” Zane. Zane left a brand large enough, you would think he lived a hundred years. Every minute of his life was packed full of kindness, love, comedy, adventure, and craziness. God balanced him to live his life to the fullest and that’s exactly what he did. He never left anything unsaid, and many will cherish his final words, “I LOVE YOU”.
Those left to cherish Zane’s memory are his loving wife Jessica and their children Pax and Everlee Whitesides of Colorado City; his father, Todd Whitesides and wife Jody of Westbrook; his mother, Carrmon Beed and husband Don of Marble Falls; brother, Zach Whitesides and wife Yvette of Colorado City; sister, Bailey Whitesides of Arlington, TX; grandparents, Noma Williamson of Westbrook, and John and Jayne Longley of Franklin, TX; his mother and father-in-law, Dajuana and Todd Nelson of Childress, TX; sister-in-law, Jennifer and husband Alfred Galyean of Midland, TX; brother-in-law, Jo-Turk Nelson of Amarillo, TX; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as, many dear friends whom he loved like family.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, TA Whitesides, Ray Williamson, and Patsy Ann “Cricket” Waid; as well as, great-grandparents, Clola and WD Whitesides.
The family will be present for a visitation on Friday, December 18, 2020 from 6-8 PM in the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel.
