William Randal “Randy” Phillips, age 65 of Panhandle, TX passed away at his home on April 1, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 3 PM at Oak Street Baptist Church in Colorado City, TX with Rev. Jackie Brem officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Colorado City Cemetery under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Randy was born on July 26, 1948 in Colorado City, TX to Acie William “A.W.” and Betty Louise Phillips. He graduated from Colorado High School in 1966. He was a US Army Veteran and served as the Post Commander over the Veterans of Foreign Affairs. He was a member of the Baptist church, and a longtime resident of Mitchell County before he relocated to Panhandle. Randy married Kathy Hall in Panhandle, TX in September of 2001.
Randy loved people deeply and was loved deeply. He was a loyal son, husband, brother, and friend. He was a loving and very special father and grandfather. As a true patriot and lover of his country he worked with all his energy to help other veterans receive the honor and dignity they so deserved. Those left to cherish Randy’s memory are his parents, A.W. and Louise Phillips of Colorado City; his wife, Kathy Phillips; daughters, Trisha Phillips Wall of Colorado City, and Robin Phillips of Levelland, TX; step-daughter, Jenny Lewis and husband Shane of Weatherford, TX; son, Scott Phillips and wife Ashley of Chicago, IL; step-son, Ben Herrera of Panhandle, TX; three grandchildren - Chase Gaines, Zack Phillips, and Penny Phillips, as well as one grandchild on the way; five step-grandchildren; and one sister, Brenda Edwards and husband Joe of Alamogordo, NM.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 5th from 5 to 8 PM at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
