On April 30, 2019, Sharon Sue Burt Truelove was released from the bondage of her failing body to go meet with her Lord and Savior. The former Lake Colorado City resident had spent the last few years at Redstone Park in Brownwood where she had received excellent care.
Sharon was born in Big Spring, Texas on August 24, 1936. She was raised almost entirely in Midland and graduated from Midland High School in 1954. She married Dan Truelove on May 5, 1956. She and Dan lived in several cities in west Texas while Dan coached and Sharon taught in public school districts. They built a home and settled for good at Lake Colorado City in 1977. Sharon was an active and charter member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Colorado City and she and Dan thoroughly enjoyed hosting elders and deacons countless times during association meetings throughout the years.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, G.W. and Sudye Burt, and her husband Dan Morris Truelove. She is survived by her sons Daniel Emmit Truelove, and Tony Lee Truelove, her daughter-in-law Bobbie Lou Truelove, her granddaughter Tori Nicole Truelove-Butler, her grandsons Matthew Dan Truelove, Logan Emmit Truelove, Jacob Allen Truelove, Jordan Lee Truelove and Joshua Lane Truelove, her two great-grandchildren Hudson Lane Truelove and Tatum Nicole Truelove and step-great grandson Zachary Ryan Blackstock. Grandsons and nephews will be the pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday May 5, at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home located at 338 Locust Street in Colorado City, Texas. The funeral service will be held Monday, May 6, at 10 a.m. at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home with internment following at Westbrook Cemetery.
