Peggy was born in Red River County Texas on August 13, 1936 to William E and Vera Cecil Bell Dodd.
Throughout her life Peggy worked many different jobs but the one that she was most proud of was being a wife, a mother, and a nana. She was a great mother, daughter, sister, and wife, but even a better grandmother. She created many fond memories with her family making gourmet meals which she loved to cook. When you entered her home you never knew what you were walking into because she loved collecting all sorts of items, especially antiques, and rearranging her home so that everything fit perfectly into place. Her sense of style when it came to decorating her home was so exquisite that those that knew her felt that she could have been an interior decorator for a living if she wanted to be.
Peggy was a very independent woman, despite physical disabilities that she gained throughout her life she remained focused and never let them get her down or get in the way of doing what she wanted to do. She was also the type of woman who did not hesitate to speak her mind, if she loved you, you knew it, but if she did not like something about you, she was able to tell you that too. She was a member of the Bellview Baptist Church in Kermit, a former member of the Wink School Board, and a member of a sorority in Wink. In her spare time she enjoyed the company of friends, which she made easily, spending time with family, and fishing. The many memories and lessons that she tought to her family will live on for generations to come.
Peggy is survived by her son Gregg Treadwell and wife Renee of Kermit, by her daughters Debbie Everett and husband Mike of Colorado City, Julie Ginkinger and husband Donald of Colorado City, and Tracy Stewart and husband Craig of Wink. She is also survived by her brother Johnny Dodd of Burnet, by 5 grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren, and by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband J.N. Treadwell in 2007, by her aunt Lucielle Burgan, a daughter-in-law Lisa Treadwell, and two grandsons Justin and Jeremy Everett.
A graveside service for Peggy will be held in the Kermit Cemetery on Tuesday, October 15th at 2pm with Doctor Jerry Shields of the First Baptist Church of Colorado City officiating.
