Julia A. Moore

She was raised on a ranch in Oklahoma, and after high school, she attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock for a short time before marrying Royce Moore of Westbrook, Texas. They resided in Westbrook and had three children: Roxanne, Rodney, and Pandora. When Julia’s youngest child entered the first grade, Julia restarted college. She received her bachelor’s degree in Education at Hardin Simmons University, Abilene, Texas, in 1968. Julia taught fourth grade at Westbrook Independent School District her whole teaching career.

Julia shared a love of travel with her children and spent many happy times on vacation with her family. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Colorado City, Texas, during her later years. She also attended Christian Fellowship and Westbrook First Baptist Church in her earlier years.

Julia is preceded in death by her parents, Reinhard and Emily Meier, along with her brother Reinhold Meier. She is survived by her sister Laverta Schafer, Canadian, Texas, her children, Roxann Rich, Alto New Mexico, Rodney Moore, Westbrook Texas, Pandora Violette, Alto New Mexico, grandchildren, Andrea Lee, Westbrook Texas, Ross Moore, El Paso, Texas, and Sterling Violette, Alto New Mexico.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 1st at 11:00 AM at Westbrook Baptist Church, Westbrook, Texas. Interment will follow on June 2, 2021, at 1:00 PM, Darrouzett Cemetery, Darrouzett, Texas.
