Mr. Juan Molina, age 68, of Colorado City, died Saturday, July 12, 2014, in a local care center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be a 10 AM Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with Father Michael Udegbunam officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell County Cemetery under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Juan was born August 3, 1945 in Colorado City to Jesus and Jesucita Cienega Molina and had been a lifelong resident of Colorado City. He married Ramona Granado on January 3, 1965 in Colorado City. He was an active member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church where he was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Juan was well known as a coach to thousands, the rabbit man at the city’s Easter egg hunt and a father figure to many. Through his 46 years of coaching, Juan mentored generations of Mitchell County’s population. He will be remembered as a loving and supportive husband and dedicated father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife Ramona Molina of Colorado City; 3 sons: Rudy and wife, Jolinda Molina of Odessa and Juan Jr. and wife, Alissa Molina of Austin, and David Sanchez of Colorado City; 4 daughters: Christabel and husband, James Marin of Midland, Sandy Sanchez of Colorado City, Emma and husband, John DeLoera of Ft. Worth and Theresa and husband, David Thompson of San Angelo; 6 brothers: Manuel Molina Sr, Louis Molina, Raymond Molina and Martin Molina, all of Colorado and Arthur Molina of Odessa and Danny Molina of Midland; 4 sisters: Ruth Ybarra of Odessa, Alice Silva, Mary Campbell and Judy Molina, all of Colorado City; 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ruben Molina.
A rosary will be held at 7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
