She was born in Dyersberg Tennessee on October 10, 1950 to Clarence and Katherine Riggs Thurmond.
Glenda was a good Christian woman who loved her God and loved her family with all her heart. She devoted her life to her Lord and delved deep into her religious studies making sure to read her Bible and devotionals every day and made sure to save plenty of time to pray for those she loved and for others that needed it as well. While she did enjoy playing Candy Crush, fishing and camping she spent her spare time with family and loving on her grandchildren. After retirement she decided to enjoy life and to be the best mother and grandmother she could, often being an integral part of family cookouts and get-togethers. She was the type of woman who believed being family was not necessarily being blood related, as she raised many children whether they were hers or not. Her warm heart and lessons taught will be cherished by the many who knew her.
Glenda is survived by 2 sons William Lentz Jr. and wife Carol of Colorado City and Tracy Lentz of Hollis Oklahoma, by 2 daughters Angela Riley and husband Marolan of Coleman and Cherri Ginkinger of Colorado City, by 17 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and by 7 fur babies. Also surviving is her brother David Thurmond and wife Tracy of Ballinger, a sister Sheila Hopkins and husband Bob of Visalia California and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by brothers Clarence Thurmond Jr., Bill Thurmond, Ray Thurmond, Bobby Thurmond, and Jimmy Thurmond, and by sisters Brenda Thurmond, Joann Leverette, Cathy Kelly, and Mary Phipps.
A private Celebration of Life for Glenda will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kiker Seale Funeral Home.
