He was born on February 23, 1957 in Midland, Texas to Dan and Sharon Burt Truelove.
Daniel was a hard-working man who spent his life working to provide for his family and to show them how to be responsible adults. In 1978 Daniel married his first wife and the mother of his three sons, Georgeann Smith. Together they started the Dollar Saver, an advertisement newspaper similar to the current day thrifty nickel. For most of the 1990’s and 2000’s he worked many different construction jobs and enjoyed spending summer vacations with his boys. In September 2013 he met the last love of his life, Karen Ermoian and up until the day he passed away he had been living his passion with her by his side, selling, designing, and building custom boat docks in and around Rockport Harbor where he lived out the rest of his days.
Daniel always had a passion for starting and marketing businesses, but had an even greater passion for building and doing things that most others could not. The bigger the challenge, the more fun it was for him. He always had a soft spot in his heart for people and animals that needed help, and when no one else would help he would be there ready to do whatever he could. The first sign of this great attribute was when he was in Spearman in the 8th grade when he released all the dogs from the animal shelter and nearly all of them followed him home. When his dad saw them and asked him what they were to do he simply replied “feed them”. After that all throughout life he continued to help people through mentorship, guidance, or employment, always making sure to fight for the little guy. A legacy that will live on through his family for years to come.
He is survived by his wife Karen Ermoian of Rockport, by sons, Matt Truelove and wife Stephanie, Logan Truelove and wife Krisha, Jordan Truelove and wife Kassie, and Jonah Ermoian, by daughters Krista Fox, Katrina Filz, and Journey Ermoian, and by grandchildren Zachery, Nolan, Kaylynn, Chance, Miles, America, Michael, Lucas, Daisy, Shooter, Beau, Magnolia, and Aurora. He is also survived by a brother Tony Truelove and his wife Bobbie of Brownwood, nephew Jake Truelove his wife Bailli and children Hudson and Tatum, niece Tori Truelove husband Jared and son Joshua and nephew Josh Truelove, wife Kassidy and their son Wesley.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dan and Sharon Truelove.
