She was born on March 3, 1936 in Casa Piedra, Texas to Jesus and Selsa Mata Herrera.
Connie was a good hearted Christian woman who loved to help others every chance she got. Her love of God and love of family could be seen in every move she made, any time people saw her she was either at church or spending time with her grandchildren. Education was another aspect of her life that she found extremely important as she spent her life helping to mold young minds as a teacher’s aid.
Connie is survived by her son Martin Rodriguez and significant other Janie Guzman of Snyder and by her grandchildren; Martin Andrew Rodriguez, Joseph Anthony Rodriguez both of Snyder, Amy Wooddell and husband Cory of Colorado City, Jessica Barajas of Abilene, and Gloria Rodriguez and her significant other Derek Martinez of Loraine. Also surviving are her great grandchildren; Jacob Garcia of Sweetwater, Deanna Wooddell, Courtney Wooddell, and Nathaniel Wooddell all of Colorado City, Rene Barajas Jr, Julius Barajas, Demira Barajas, Lexy Barajas, Aiden Barajas, and Jazlynn Villalon all of Abilene, Amaya Martinez, Destiny Martinez, and Anaya Williams all of Loraine, and one great-great-grandchild Eli Garcia of Sweetwater. Her sister Jovita Marquez and her husband Bernado and her brother Manuel Herrera both of Odessa as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lupe Rodriguez.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church of Colorado City on Monday August 8th at 10 am with Father David Herrera officiating. Burial will follow in the Loraine Cemetery.
The family will be present for a visitation which will be held for Connie on Sunday, August 7th from 6 to 8 pm at the Kiker Seale Funeral Home with a rosary to be held at 7 pm.
