Marjorie was the beloved mother of Megan D’Antonio, and her husband Peter, as well as her loving grandchildren Olivia, Sophie, and James and her son, Michael. She is also survived by her sisters Mary Pat Stark, Kathy Kenney, Connie Hazeltine, Ginny Lutkewitte and her brothers Joseph Topper Jr., Edward Topper, Gerry Topper and their families.
Marjorie graduated from Allentown Catholic High School. She continued her education and graduated from Chestnut Hill College with a degree in childhood education. Margie used that education to start a Head Start program that she ran as well as other childhood development programs. She passes on her passion to her daughter, Megan, who pursued teaching as well.
Margie was always a magnet for getting people together, which was easy with her sparkling personality. Starting mom’s clubs, book clubs and any other way to pull people together.
About 5 years ago she met her husband, Gary, who became the love of her life. They exchanged vows in September of this year surrounded by loving family and friends.
Margie was diagnosed with ALS in January 2022. She fought a courageous battle with the disease and left her trust in Jesus. Her faith and love around her got her through that devastating disease. Every healthcare worker Margie encountered was amazed by how she remained positive throughout her illness and even brought joy to them as well. Margie was always taking an opportunity for a teaching moment.
Family and friends are invited to attend Margie’s viewing and funeral mass on November 4, 2022 at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, St. John’s Church, 809 Park Avenue, Collingswood, New Jersey. Viewing will start at the church at 10:30 followed by Mass at 11:45 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the ALS Association, Greater Philadelphia Chapter or Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
