Eileen Marie Burke

Preceded in death by her husband Edward, daughter Deborah Schlereth and son Kevin, Eileen lives on in her three children: Edward B. Jr (Sally Anne Hillock), Stephen (Carolyn) and Patricia (Julia Buddendorf), her 14 grandchildren and her 24 great grandchildren! Eileen was one of seven children and is survived by her beloved baby brother Vincent of Stuart, Florida.

Eileen had a work ethic surpassed by few, retiring as a Supervisor from Bell Telephone after 30 years of near perfect attendance. Eileen was always first to offer help to a friend or neighbor and maintained long friendships from her elementary school days. She had a quick wit and a love of storytelling up until her final days. Eileen cherished her family, was delighted by music (especially Frank Sinatra), and got exhilarated by watching her family and any Philadelphia team play sports. She was competitive in all card games and adored nature and the sun on her face!

Eileen was the true matriarch of a big loving family that is going to miss her and will hold dear all the wonderful memories of fun times spent in her presence!

A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 28th at Blake Doyle Funeral Home, from 6- 8 PM and again at 10 AM on Friday, December 29th at St. John's Catholic Church in Collingswood, NJ. A funeral mass will be held at 11 AM, December 29th at St. John's, followed by the interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Blackwood, NJ.

In lieu of flowers the family requests kindness to oneself, others, and nature. Donations to St. Jude’s or the Parkinson Foundation would also be tributes dear to Eileen’s heart.
