James Andrew “Andy” Mills, age 66, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at home surrounded by his family. He was born January 16, 1956, in Memphis, Tennessee to Ella Rene and Franklin Leroy “Leroy” Mills.
He married Cindy Mills on August 16, 1980, in Memphis, Tennessee and they were married for 42 loving years.
The most important thing in Andy’s life was his family. He always put his family first and loved them dearly. His second love was working with his hands. He enjoyed fixing things and spending too many hours in his tool shed. Andy retired from Caterpillar after 23 years of service and used his love of projects to operate his own construction company for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Mills; daughter, Cortney Mills; son, Cody Mills; and sister, Charlotte Bishop. He was preceded in death by his parents Ella Rene and Franklin Leroy “Leroy” Mills; sister, Diane Cunningham; and brother-in-law, Charles Bishop.
He will be greatly missed by his loving family and always remembered in their hearts.
A visitation for Andy will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Collierville Funeral Home, 534 West Poplar Avenue, Collierville, Tennessee 38017, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
