Helen attended school in Rossville, TN and graduated from Collierville High School in 1948. She married the love of her life, Walter E. Piper on January 26, 1951 and they were married for 51 years before he passed away in 2002.
Helen was a woman of faith and was a longtime member of the Pharr Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Daughters of American Revolution and the Daughters of the Confederacy. Helen was a secretary for Pharr San Juan Alamo school district for 31 years and spent time volunteering at the church Food Pantry. She enjoyed meeting friends that she loved so much for lunch and game day where they would spend time together playing card and dice games.
She is preceded in death by, husband, Walter E. Piper; parents, Julian Wray and Lillian Boyd; and son in law, Bernie Michael Ripkowski.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Connie Ripkowski Wright (Barry Wright); sisters, Dorthy B. Wilson and Lillian Wray McDonald; granddaughters, Mysti Ripkowski Richardson (Michael Richardson), Crystal Ripkowski Hadley (Todd Hadley); great-grandchildren, Ashley Richardson, Reese Richardson, Blake Hadley, Sofia Hadley as well as several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 2:00PM at Collierville Funeral Home located at 534 W Poplar Ave, Collierville, TN 38017. The family will begin to receive visitors at 1:00pm.
A visitation for Helen will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Collierville Funeral Home, 534 West Poplar, Collierville, TN 38017, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM.
