Emma Louise Pouncey Phillips, 87, went home to be with Jesus on July 13, 2020. She was born in Quito, TN to Carrie Mae McDaniel and Barney Earl Pouncey. Louise was married to the love of her life, James Edward "Bud" Phillips, for 55 years. Bud preceded her in death.
Louise and Bud worked together in their RV business, real estate and inspecting properties for mortgage companies. They attended Bellevue Baptist Church for 30 years, as well as Bartlett Baptist and Highland Heights Baptist Churches. They were very active in their church filling many roles in leadership. Louise's sister, Evelyn Everton, preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister, Patricia Harrell. She leaves behind four children, Donna Noblett (Rodney), Pam Weiss (John), Brad Phillips (Judy) and Jon Phillips (Shae). She had 12 grandchildren, Tim Weiss (Sarah), Ben Noblett (Allison), Jennifer Weiss (Cristóbal), Joseph Noblett (Jessie), Stephen Noblett (Sue), Hallie Phillips Bauer (Josh), Elio Ugalde, Bianca Ugalde, Conrad Phillips, Abigail Phillips, Reed Phillips and Jacob Phillips. She had 6 great-grandchildren, Maverick Bauer, Brooke Phillips, Caitlynn Noblett, Knox Noblett, Lucy Bauer and Willa Noblett.
Because of current restrictions, a private burial will be held. A Celebration of Life will be planned on a later date for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Samaritan's Purse (she loved to donate money specifically for the goats and sheep) or Dolly Parton's Imagination Library (an organization that donates books to young children whose families cannot afford them). Louise donated to both of these organizations in honor of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren on many occasions.
