She was a retired RN after 40 years with Dr. James Bryant Family Practice in Memphis.
She was born in Pickens, MS. and graduated high school in Drew, MS.
before moving to Memphis to attend Baptist Hospital School of Nursing graduating in 1947.
She was devoted to her Lord Jesus Christ, her family, her church, and her many friends. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Fisherville, TN since 1950 where she served as librarian.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Edwin and Minnie Johnston, 4 brothers; Woodrow, Cecil, E.F. and Louis Johnston, her husband of 49 years; Walter Throneberry, her son; Woody Throneberry, and her daughter in law; Linda Wesson Throneberry.
She is survived by her sister; Vera Johnston Griffin, three sons; Kel, Gregg (Cindy), and Wade (Janet) Throneberry, 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 8th at First Baptist Church Fisherville (11893 Macon Rd) starting at 10am and funeral at 11am followed by burial in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please make memorials in her name to First Baptist Church of Fishersville.
